 Nablus: a biography lecture about Fadwa Tuqan in her 100th birthday


NABLUS – on the occasion of her 100 birthday, the Arabic department in the Latin Patriarchate School  St. Joseph school in Nablus prepared a lecture about the Palestinian poet, the daughter of Nablus: Fadwa Tuqan. The department hosted Dr. Ihsan Deik, who presented the biography of Fadwa Tuqan for the 10th and 11th graders.


Fadwa Tuqan; a Palestinian Poet was born in Nablus in 1917 for a Palestinian family. She was taught by her eldest brother Ahmad Tuqan after she left the elementary school. She was known as the Palestinian Poet, and the Mother of the Palestinian Poems, this nickname was given by the poet Mahmud Darwesh. She died in 2003.
